Journal of Childhood Literacy and Societal Issues

The Journal of Childhood Literacy and Societal Issues (JoCLSi) is an open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed international journal that includes empirical research, theoretical articles, case studies, systematic literature reviews, and meta-analyses. The journal is approved by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and ranked in Y-Category for 2024-2025.  

Aim & Scope

The bi-annual journal features research articles from around the world focusing on topics related to literacy and educational needs, development, strategies, role players and factors, etc. among early adolescents to teenagers and youth. By focusing on the mission of the Publisher; Centre for Children Literacy and Lifelong Learning, the core aim of the journal is to provide a foundation for education and literacy reforms to ensure and improve quality, equity, and access specifically among underprivileged children and deprived communities. It also aims to catalyze parents, educators, governments, policymakers, reading program initiators, and NGOs to provide quality and peer-reviewed research to support and guide reading promotional programs, literacy practices, educational and pedagogical reforms, psychological, and developmental needs of adolescents, teenagers, and youth.   

The primary focus of the journal is on literacy development and associating factors, including but not limited to:

  • learning environments
  • learning assessments
  • technology for the classroom
  • social-emotional development
  • educating children in crisis and conflict zones
  • Literacies from preschool to adulthood

The journal is multi-disciplinary. We welcome submissions from diverse disciplinary backgrounds including education, library & information sciences, psychology, literacy studies, sociology, anthropology, historical, and cultural studies.
